A Limited Edition Joins The Maurice Lacroix AIKON Automatic Chronograph Collection

One year after the launch of the AIKON Automatic Chronograph range, a limited edition of 500 pieces introduces a new colour combination. The AIKON Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition galvanises the collection with its new grey dial, blue counters and red hands.

With dynamic angles and distinct polishing and satin-brushing, the AIKON Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition has a real presence on the wrist thanks to its 44 mm diameter, meticulous detail and sheer energy. The colour combination, the complication and the finish of the perforated strap are inspired by the culture of design and architecture that runs through every Maurice Lacroix creation.

The AIKON Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition’s bold proportions also result from the use of an automatic chronograph calibre of proven quality. The screwed case back and push pieces add to the aesthetics of the timepiece, as well as providing water-resistance to 200 metres. The AIKON Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition uses Maurice Lacroix’s EasyChange quick strap change system. But what could replace the strong character of its matt blue calfskin strap with red stitching? Its multiple perforations add a retro-sporty touch to the piece.

The dial of the AIKON Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition bears the raised AIKON Automatic Chronograph pattern. Its small, regular squares appear here in a silvery grey colour. The red lacquered hands stand out against the deep hue of the blued flange and counters. Applied hour markers adorn the dial. Their strong, angular, bevelled design catches the light to perfection. The same goes for the polished contours of the date aperture. The elegant, energetic curves of the steel case express the modern, masculine feel that Maurice Lacroix has injected into the models. The edges of the bezel are polished, as are its six arms, an AIKON signature.

Strong and masculine without being excessively detailed or large, the AIKON Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition is a resolutely modern timepiece with a unique presence. The Manufacture continues to produce watches whose perceived value is considerably higher than their price, even in the case of a limited edition of 500 pieces.

The AIKON Spirit

AIKON Automatic watches are descendants of the Maurice Lacroix Calypso. This steel watch was one of the brand’s iconic models in the 1980s and ‘90s and bore the same design codes that live on in the AIKON, such as the integrated case, the six-arm bezel surrounding a flat sapphire crystal and the strap marked with an applique M logo. In 2016, Maurice Lacroix produced a contemporary reinterpretation of this iconic piece with the quartz AIKON. In 2018 the automatic chronograph models continued the trend, the crowning achievement of which is this 2019 limited edition of 500 pieces
