Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Retrograde Calendar
Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Retrograde Calendar
The Masterpiece Collection is the perfect synthesis of Maurice Lacroix know-how for more than 25 years. This collection spearheads the brand, and, its interpretation is a wonderful illustration of complications, especially retrograde displays, that Maurice Lacroix has been specializing in since 1999.
In 1999, Maurice Lacroix released its first retrograde watch, the Masterpiece Retrograde Calendar, a luxury timepiece equipped with a power-reserve indicator. 19 years later, the Swiss company showcases a new watch, once again named the Masterpiece Retrograde Calendar, a timepiece inspired by the past, which stylishly advances towards the future.
The Masterpiece Retrograde Calendar is offered in two dial variants, silver or blue. The dial surface is enriched with exquisite detailing such as Clous de Paris decoration or snailed and Côtes de Genève details depending on the version selected. Colour coordinated lancine-shaped hands succinctly impart information. The 43mm steel case provides ample size to display all indications clearly, each function being optimally positioned, delivering excellent legibility.
A key element of the dial is the retrograde calendar indication. A lone hand moves upwards, following an arcing trajectory. As the last moments of the 31st day ebbs away, the hand returns to the first day of the month and a new future awaits the wearer.
This new timepiece is equipped with an automatic Manufacture movement, the calibre ML190. The movement is endowed with high-end finishing, typical of a Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece. The bridges are rhodium plated, featuring Côtes de Genève in Colimaçon with polished edges. Likewise, the skeleton rotor is decorated with Côtes de Genève in Colimaçon. Measuring 16 lignes, this large and impressive movement can be appreciated via the exhibition case-back.
An alligator leather strap, featuring the company's distinctive logo, confers a sense of luxury with its attractive appearance and sumptuous feel. Equipped with the innovative 'Easy Change' strap system, the wearer can quickly exchange the strap without the need for tools.
As owners of this Maurice Lacroix watch will attest, we often need to return to the past in order to move forward.
